ESSENTIAL WYNN SHOP AROUND THE CORNER Thanks to Wynn's personal-shopping I 114 WYNN service, retail nirvana is just steps away. BY MEEGHAN TRUELOVE magine the one-stop luxury shopping destination of your dreams, a place where you can browse the softest cashmeres from Loro Piana, test-drive the latest killer stilettos at Manolo Blahnik, and assess the hottest Forever bag at Hermès, all without leaving the same sparkling, climate-controlled space. If you've already experienced the Esplanades at Wynn and Encore, you'll recognize this ultimate shopper's dream as being a real-life thing. But now imagine there's a shopping fairy-godmother genius who knows these boutiques inside and out, and who conjures all her impeccable taste and retail magic just for you. This is Wynn's personal shopper and—praise be to the shopping dieties—she's real-life too. And your wish is her command. The Wynn Resorts' collection of boutiques is nothing short of spec- tacular. More than 75,000 square feet of space are dedicated to some of the most exclusive, prestigious retailers and manufacturers in the world, from legendary houses such as Chanel and Oscar de la Renta to cutting- edge designers like Chloé and Zac Posen. To help guests navigate this extraordinary trove as intimately and efficiently as possible, the resort launched its complimentary personal- shopper program in 2009, and it was an immediate hit. Requests poured in for private shopping tours and style consultations. There were last- minute handbag emergencies, obscure souvenir hunts, and oodles of SOS cries for something swim- ready and sexy from ladies who had neglected to toss bathing suits into their carry-ons. As the pro- gram has evolved over the past few years, it has grown to handle not just one-off queries from one- time guests, but the exactingly detailed and personal requests of repeat high rollers who know in advance precisely what kind of retail help they want. Recently the resort has considerably upped the ante on this much-loved service. Amy Grace Winn is the newest personal shopper to join the Wynn retail team and has a background steeped in the fashion world, having worked extensively on runway shows and with high-end magazines. She further sharpened her skills styling a roster of A-list high-profile and celebrity clients. Winn's heightened sense of style means clients can expect more than a well-chosen option or two when they send her on a mission. Her savvy and exper- tise translate into sophisticated, spot-on choices. And not only does she know her Louis Vuitton from her Lanvin, she also knows how to practice the ultimate discretion, staying mum about every shopping quest and respecting an omerta-like code of confidentiality. What happens in the Esplanades stays in the Esplanades. "Like so many Wynn offerings, we've built a program that balances the best in personal service, exquisite selection and an idea of exclusiv- ity, an experience tailored solely for you," explains Hedy Woodrow, vice president of retail for Wynn Resorts. "We don't believe in cookie-cutter services, but in crafting something that's specific to your needs." Would you like the latest dresses from Alexander McQueen brought to your room for some rapid-fire decisions? Or perhaps you need to debate a Graff diamond bracelet versus Cartier's cult-favorite gold bangle Juste un Clou? She can do that, too. In this dream version of shopping made real, there are no hard-and-fast rules, just countless possibilities. And lest you think that the service is primarily geared toward women, Hedy Woodrow, vice president of retail for Wynn Resorts, at Chopard bear in mind that Wynn is one of the best places in the world to shop for watches. Patek Philippe, Breguet, Panerai, Piaget, and IWC are all repre- sented at Wynn; Chopard recently opened its own stand-alone boutique near Graff's stunning offerings; and this fall Rolex's redesigned storefront will be the revered Swiss company's premier North American flagship, with a gallery for displaying vintage pieces and rare his- torical documents. Winn will be able to hand-pick a few bezel-embellished beauties for you, swing by Dior Homme for the perfect pair of metal-and- lacquer cuff links, and be ready to present them all to you before you've polished off your first cocktail. Elevated from a glitzy perk to an essential resort amenity, Wynn's personal-shopper service now holds its own against any of the property's other top-notch offerings (no small statement in a place where the spa ceilings are flecked with Swarovski crystals). Searching for the perfect detail to take your outfit from day to night, plus some fun bauble to thank the sitter for holding down the fort while you're away in Las Vegas? You know who to call for that. ■ Among the most-requested labels for personal shopping: Manolo Blahnik PHOTOGRAPHY BY ALEX KARVOUNIS (WOODROW); BARBARA KRAFT (MANOLO BLAHNIK)
