CONTRIBUTORS 2 4 1 3 1. In addition to photographing food and beverages for Wynn, Alex Karvounis supervises the design and photography for the Wynn and Encore internal communications department. For this issue, he photographed the "Vine Arts" and "Cocktail Hour" pages. Upon graduating from the presti- gious Tisch School for the Arts at New York University, Karvounis began his photography career in motion pictures, producing two feature films. He then traveled the world for 14 years performing in a comedy juggling team with his twin brother, Nick, setting world records and winning numerous awards for their show before settling in Las Vegas, where they founded the entertainment casting website vegasauditions.com, which they currently own and operate. He lives in Las Vegas with his wife, Stephanie, and their 18-month-old daughter, Harper. 2. Robert Haynes-Peterson is a former editor of Accent and Fashion Forum magazines, and has covered luxury lifestyle, fashion, travel, and wine and spirits for the past decade. When not scouring the world for the next great spa treatment or cult winery, he resides in New York City. This issue, he covers the latest and greatest finds on our "All Access" men's page, from Havana-inspired Brioni fashions to one of the most significant classic cocktails of all time. "There are three drinks every bartender should strive to perfect: the Negroni, the martini, and the Manhattan," he says. "With the new, hand-selected Wynn Signature Bourbon Barrel whiskey from Knob Creek, mixologist Patricia Richards and her staff have nailed the third without reservation." 20 WYNN 3. Most photographers spend a lifetime working toward perfecting their pas- sion for photography. For Gail Hadani, it was only after 25 years as an opera singer and seeing an inspiring exhibit of John Singer Sargent at the Tate museum in London that she decided to pick up a camera and give it a go. Art was her first passion, however. A child prodigy, at 12 Hadani had already exhib- ited her work at Fairleigh Dickinson University and various galleries. Many of her images today are influenced by the drama of the opera, and the New York-based Women's Wear Daily has named her one of the top 40 beauty photographers in the business. Combining her eye for art, a keen fashion and beauty sense, her theatrical experience, and a more commercial sensibility, Hadani has forged the opportunity to work in fashion, beauty, and advertising. 4. Matt Kelemen has interviewed Wynn Design and Development exec- utive vice president Roger Thomas more times than any other Wynn magazine contributor, so he knew a feature about Thomas's fondness for the color red would yield a great "as told to" article. "I've gained an acute appreciation for design as a result of my interviews with Roger, and try to impart that to readers," he says. "I knew how much he appreciates red, so I was really looking forward to this one." In addition to being a regu- lar writer for Wynn, Kelemen has also contributed to Vegas, Las Vegas Magazine, Las Vegas Home + Design, and Los Angeles Confidential. After a busy 2011, the new year finds him setting aside time to finish a short- story collection and animated-film screenplay, and writing the memoir of Las Vegas Rat Pack survivor actor Mike Kennedy. n PHOTOGRAPH BY ERIC ITA (KELEMEN)
