STEVE WYNN At dusk, a multimedia show on Wynn's Lake of Dreams comes alive. If Steve Wynn loves anything, it is the idea of his guests discovering something new at one of his resorts, whether it's their first visit or their 15th. explaining his reasoning only makes him more resolute in his decision. "I no longer think in terms of developing it someday; I'm going to let these hotels have a backyard." Those who enjoy the serenity of the Wynn Golf Club, that sense of rolling North Carolina hills somehow transported to the Las Vegas desert, no doubt will be pleased. It may not be a new surprise, but Wynn clearly enjoys the notion of that surprise for his guests, the discovery of such a green, tranquil moment in what can often be a cacophonous city ruled by the siren song of slot-machine bells. And if Steve Wynn loves anything, it 30 WYNN is the idea of his guests discovering something new at one of his resorts, whether it's their first visit or their 15th. Ultimately, even if those visits venture into the double digits, it's a good bet Wynn will still be ready with surprises. "Here's what I love to hear: When a guest believes one of the great things about Wynn is that when they've come back, they've found something new, or perhaps something a little bit better, or an experience that's just a bit more fun," Wynn says. "If someone who's chosen to stay with us has arrived at that conclusion, then I'll think we've done our job pretty well." n
