He's likewise enamored of the vista of the Wynn pool, calling it one of the best-conceived spaces his team has ever created. And thus we arrive at that one unalterable, forever element in Steve Wynn's mind, a notion that seems to surprise him almost as much as any- one else who knew his initial plans back in 2005. "Originally the thought was that someday we would develop all the real estate that is the golf course," he says. "But in the last few years, I've come to the conclusion that the golf course is a critically important part of our environment; it gives us a suburban feel that we would never accomplish if the space were filled up with another hotel. So I'm going to use the golf course and its complementary environment as a permanent way of augmenting the experience of these two hotels." Wynn considers his words, as though Wynn's south side. RIGHT: The dancing quickly emerged as a signature detail of the resort. "We don't have common or ritzy, plain or VIP. The whole place has to run by VIP standards." With that unyielding belief, Wynn looks on the horizon, continuing to speak not of problems, but only of possibilities. "You have to have an optimistic outlook about life in the future to be in my business—though there's a pressure created by that necessity, which I have accepted," Wynn says. "Ultimately, you have to believe in tomorrow."
