BEAUTY FEELS SO GOOD V 48 WYNN alentine's Day is for chocolates, dinner, candles— why not a professional couples massage? "It's a level of intimacy with no pressure," says Ella Stimpson, executive director of Spa Operations for Wynn, which offers simultaneous massages in a warm, inviting room specially designed for it. "You're being massaged and taken care of in the presence of your significant other, but you don't have to think, Does that feel good for you, honey?" The Spa at Wynn will make any of its massages fit for a pair, but for the romantic splurge, Stimpson recommends the Signature Escape, a "ritual" treatment unique to Wynn. BY JENNIFER BLOSSOM shea butter, and a hydrating body wrap. While the heat of the wrap is helping the shea butter permeate your skin, your spa technician provides a calming blue chamomile scalp massage. "It is The Spa at Wynn's most indulgent yet beneficial massage ever created," says Stimpson. But first, when couples arrive at the spa, they are led to the women- and men-only areas featuring jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, cold plunge, and a button-operated "deluge." Stimpson recommends that couples get there early and spend some time in the water. "I'd start with the jacuzzi and cold plunge, followed by the deluge," says Stimpson. "It increases your blood circulation, which makes your muscles more responsive to a massage. It also shuts off your brain. You can't solve a problem while gallons of water are falling on your head." With their skin soft and heads refreshed, couples can reunite in the calming Atrium, where natural light, lush plants, and the sounds of flowing water fill the space. They may sit and share a snack or tea before they are led to the couples massage room, a wholly different PHOTOGRAPH BY JEFF GREEN (SPA)
