While Wynn Macau and Encore Macau both contain expertly curated works of art and can be considered forward-thinking in architecture, elements of their décor are so awe-inspiring as to be perceived as artistic creations themselves. The chandeliers splashed throughout Wynn's Macau resorts rise to that level. Wynn Design and Development's executive vice president of design 70 Roger Thomas prefers to describe them as "artisanal." "There are a lot of chandeliers [here] that I think are highly collectible and retain great value," he says. Most chandeliers seen at Wynn Las Vegas and Encore at Wynn Las Vegas have been designed specifically for the property, but occasionally Thomas finds one so impressive he builds a room around it. "Very few of the antiques available today are of the scale that's appropriate for hotels of our size," he says. "But it does happen.
