BY KAREN ROSE | PHOTOGRAPHY BY ALEX KARVOUNIS A far cry from those green vodka concoctions your great-aunt tosses back, the rum-based Spiced Apple Martini at Botero is a libation worth abandoning Eden for. It gets its kick from a combination of Bacardi Oakheart spiced rum and two liqueurs every home bar should have in stock for fall. Welcome to apple season, friends—the long, hot summer is finally over. 1 1⁄2 oz. Bacardi Oakheart spiced rum 3 ⁄4 oz. Evan Williams Apple Orchard liqueur 1 ⁄2 oz. Domaine de Canton French Ginger liqueur 3 ⁄4 oz. Lemon juice, freshly squeezed and strained 1 ⁄2 oz. Rock candy syrup First lightly dip the rim of a martini glass in a cinnamon-sugar mixture (2 rounded bar spoons of ground cinnamon to 16 ounces of fine, granulated sugar). Set glass aside. Combine all ingredients in a shaker. Fill the shaker two-thirds of the way with ice and shake well. Strain cocktail into pre-rimmed glass.
