IKRAM'S IT LIST What a Pair CREATURES OF THE WIND AND TABITHA SIMMONS TEAM UP TO CREATE A SHOE THAT WILL STOP YOU IN YOUR TRACKS. BY IKRAM GOLDMAN I 've known Tabitha Simmons for many years (she's a premier stylist and writer for Vogue), so when she started her own shoe collection, I jumped on them right away—I knew I was going to get something very special from her. Not only are her shoes fabulous, but they are also absolutely magnificent in terms of comfort. That's a rarity, especially with a heel. I love her shoes so much that I introduced her to Shane and Chris from Creatures of the Wind; because they have a very whimsical, youthful collection, I thought it would be a really magical moment for them to work with somebody who's equally fun and also as elegant as she is. They've been collaborating ever since, and I love this boot from their Fall/Winter collection. It has such a unique shape, in between an anklet and a mid-calf boot. I love where it sits on the leg, and how thin it is—it's not wide or clunky; it's very feminine. It almost looks like you're slipping into a shoe, as if you're in a shoe and wearing a sock instead of an actual boot. And for a pointy shoe it really does not pinch. When you have two young designers working together, both with a set of expectations of per—IKRAM GOLDMAN fection (they're both CFDA Award winners), it's a really great thing to see. They want to put their best foot forward and do the best they can, and they're doing it.
