APP STORE WHO SAYS REFRIGERATORS cAn'T bE SEXY? APPLIAncES GET THE uLTRA-LuXE TREATmEnT AT SEAPORT'S nEW HIGH-End HOmEWARES EmPORIum. by Jessica bowne It starts with a 9-by-16-foot video wall where clients can see larger-than-life renderings of their dream kitchens—indeed, their dream homes. And any dream home must feature some of the surrounding uberluxe appliances at Clarke's brand-new, 4,500-square-foot show- room in Seaport: a gorgeous Wolf convection steam oven that can cook a dozen eggs still in their carton; an Asko dish- washer made of Superman steel that cleans dishes and utensils with a fraction of the water, electricity, and detergent needed by other models; a Sub-Zero refrigerator that can chill a bottle of Champagne in a matter of minutes and freeze an entire bison (if it could fit…) in its industrial- strength freezer. The list goes on. President Sean Clarke is understandably bullish about the company's state-of-the-art space, which opens May 2 in centrally located Seaport. "A majority of our customers live in Boston's urban center," he says. "We're very excited to bring our expertise and kitchen inspiration right [here]." The new space surely invites: In addition to the poshest of appliances, customers can browse model kitchens with Dutch Made–, Poggenpohl–, and DBS–designed cabinetry, as well as an entire wall of stunning Marvin tilt-and- slide windows—all the stuff that kitchen fantasies are made of. 7 Tide St.; clarkeliving.com . 126  bostoncommon-magazine.com SPACE Hi-TecH
