Gone are the Brahmin family tea sets, replaced instead with psychedelic backgammon boards. The ole cobble- stone streets are bursting with youthful spirit, a vibe Rachel Reider channels into this lively (bed) spread. The Washington, DC–born Reider made her way up north for college, soon afterward making Boston her home base from which to launch her interiors firm. Also the design director of Lark Hotels, Reider is known for bringing the unex- pected to each of her projects. Who sleeps here? "I picture a young family, looking to unwind after a long day. The kids are tucked into bed, so it's time for that hour of 'me time' with some macarons and a glass of Champagne." How does this say Beacon Hill? "I see a lot of young families moving in and renovating the beautiful townhouses. They are looking to bring a fresh, more modern look, while respecting the architecture that the area is well known for." Hill highlights? "We wanted the room to be the sanctuary in the house and reflect a youthful energy, bringing a more fashion-forward look to the typical 'Beacon Hill' typecast. The luxurious fabrics add an extra layer of warmth, while the bold linens add a fresh pop of color. All of these pieces support each other." rachelreider.com Each of greater Boston's areas sports its own distinct personal- ity—and its own distinct aesthetic. We tapped three of the city's top interior designers to choose a 'hood and create the perfect bedscape for it, evoking the area's personality and flair. Forty winks have never come so stylishly. Sweet dreams, Beacon Hill: South End–based interior designer Rachel Reider represents the "youthful energy" of the tony hood with a lively but harmonious bedscape. Space pillow talk
