I want to shout it from the rooftops. I want to roll around in a fresh bed of tulips. grab binoculars and birdwatch. Harvest honey, for god's sake. somebody stop me. or bee-keep with me… and with our cover star, taniya nayak. she is just as everything-is-coming-up-roses about this season as I am, and a decorated expert in the home design and culinary worlds. In other words, the lass can celebrate spring inside, outside, and every which way. a superstar at Hgtv, nayak operates her domestic empire out of a sleek studio space south of Boston. Writer nichole Bernier catches up with her and learns the latest from her watch-out-martha-stewart career in "totally taniya" (page 84). nayak is the perfect fit for our inaugural home issue, which features a special section packed with ideas on how to create a heavenly sanctuary in your house, garden—even home gym. after all, there really is no place like home. It could be argued that my second home is soulcycle, the cardio-spiritual spinning phenomenon that has captured the hearts of Bostonians with three studios (chestnut Hill, Back Bay, and Beacon Hill). I have the privilege to moderate a discussion with the founders, elizabeth cutler and Julie rice, at the liberty Hotel. they—and their wildly successful workouts—are living proof not just of the mind and body connection, but that there is always room for strong, well-executed ideas and entrepreneurial dreams to be fully realized. the same could be said for creative director albert Kriemler's vision at akris. a passionate fan of architecture, art, and of course fashion, he and his team debuted a three-story stylish marvel of a space on newbury street. americas ceo peter Herink and I cohosted a cocktail reception last month in the beloved womenswear and accessories boutique, an ode to beauty in its most sleek form. enjoy the issue! read it outside, next to some lovely flowers. seize spring. from left: Proud to cohost (and wear!) Akris at a reception celebrating the new Newbury Street flagship with boutique manager Nunzio Bellofatto and Americas CEO Peter Herink; I was thrilled to vice-chair the Boston Ballet's Le Bal Epoque with Joanna Humphrey Flynn and chair Pamela Petri-Humphrey. lisa pierpont 24  bostoncommon-magazine.com LETTER From THE EDITor-IN-CHIEF
