Sea and be seen: Ocean Prime dishes its famed seafood, like Chilean sea bass with whipped potatoes and champagne-truffle sauce, in nouveau steakhouse surroundings, including its swank bar ( below), which is already the toast of the town. photography by Eric LEvin (sEa bass); MELissa ostrow (bar) Who says you can't have it all? Ocean Prime's dual allegiance provides both the finned and clawed bounty of the Atlantic (the "Ocean") and classic steakhouse fare (the "Prime"). Executive Chef Mitch Brumels oversees both the seafood (grouper with gnocchi, scallops with risotto) and raw bar as well as the prime filets and New York and Kansas City strips, which are broiled at 1,200 degrees and served with hearty sides like lobster-dotted mashed potatoes and creamed spinach. The steakhouse DNA is also in the décor, with plush seating, a granite bar, and warm wood accents, plus a baby grand piano (and pianist) in the lounge. Paired with an award- winning wine program offering more than 50 by-the-glass pours, Ocean Prime, which anchors luxury apart- ment complex 100 Pier 4, brings a beautiful package of old and new to Boston's up-and- coming neighborhood. The (seasonal) cherry on top? A heated terrace for al fresco dining opens in late spring. 140 Seaport Blvd., 617-670-1345; ocean-prime.com .
