Tom Negovan is a reporter/ anchor for WGN News, has written about immigration for the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, and about motorcycle safety and the war in Afghanistan for the Chicago Tribune. He has covered politics at all levels in two countries for more than two decades and is just beginning to figure it out. He has been an embedded journalist in both Iraq and Afghanistan and would go back tomorrow if he could. In this issue: Negovan shadowed Mayor Emanuel for our cover story, "Of the People" (page 100). Behind the story: He wanted this story written, but didn't want to write it; he's very glad he did.
