Like a missing puzzle piece, the new Hotel Eleven is a perfect fit for its charming East Austin neighborhood while also filling a need in an area that attracts tourists and locals alike. Within walking distance of favorites like Franklin Barbecue, Blue Dahlia Bistro, Charm School Vintage, and the historic Victory Grill— as well as downtown and the UT campus—sits Hotel Eleven, Austin's newest boutique hotel. Husband and wife team Mark Vornberg and Shelly Leibham, who opened to guests in April, got the idea for the property on a trip eight years ago. "We stayed in a small family-run hotel," recalls Leibham. "There was a dog in the lobby and real neighbor- hood ambiance. That was the spark for our inspiration." The 14-room hotel features a street-facing café and craft-beer bar, three outdoor-covered patios, and a rooftop deck offering a 360-degree view of the city, including UT's Darrell K Royal Stadium, the Capitol, and even the airport control tower on a clear day. Every last detail—including the unique light fixtures, wallpaper, and local artwork in each of the rooms—was meticulously thought out. "We are looking for that guest who loves a boutique hotel in the true sense: small, gets to truly know the owners, and gains a view of Austin from a true and local perspective," says Leibham. 1123 E. 11th St. 512-675-0011; hotelelevenaustin.com . new boutique Hotel eleven was designed to fit right in to the eastside.
