STYLE NICHE Hall & Madden shirts are available in slim, athletic, and classic fits. It's Our Custom Italian Import WHEN IT COMES TO INSPIRED CUSTOM CLOTHING, DAPPER CHICAGO MEN HAVE MORE OPTIONS THAN EVER. KITON'S ARTISANS ARRIVE IN THE WINDY CITY. T he appreciation of old-world refinement is reemerging everywhere from the cool streets of Wicker Park to the C-suites on LaSalle Street. The tradition of made-to-measure suiting that became popular in 19th-century London on Savile Row continues today here in Chicago, as modern tailoring is now fused with state-of-the-art technology for an impeccably constructed garment. The foundation to every bespoke look is a perfectly tailored shirt, and Hall & Madden (358 W. Ontario St., 312-649-5636; hallmadden.com) is leading the way with a curated subscription service that provides well-made shirts every three, four, or six months. Fits include slim, athletic, and classic, and garments are available in various prints and colors. "Chicago men enjoy the athletic fit of our shirts, which allow for a tapered waist and nice silhouette," explains co-founder McGregor Madden. Meanwhile, Ermenegildo Zegna's new Chicago flagship (645 N. Michigan Ave., 312-5879660; zegna.com) now offers the Personalization Project, which allows discerning gents to work with Zegna's resident tailor to create completely custommade suits, with every detail—from the fabric to buttons—hand-selected by the customer. Zegna's tailor finishes the garment with the ultimate personal touch, as the client's name is stitched into the finished edges of the fabric. Only 100 made-tomeasure suits will be created globally each season, making this the most exclusive experience in menswear this season. MA Celebrating 55 years of elegance, Kiton holds an exclusive event at Neiman Marcus on October 4–5. Flown in from Italy, a team of Kiton artisans—including a head master tailor, cobbler, and custom shirt and tie fitters—will demonstrate the brand's fluid tailoring and mastery of what the Italians call sperrazza, or "nonchalant elegance." Garments are crafted of the finest materials such as vintage English wools and rare archived fibers from the Andes mountains. Each suit requires more than 25 hours to complete, and is impeccably crafted and impressively durable, able to withstand a transatlantic flight or the liveliest night out in River North. 737 N.
