He started his career with General Motors and was later appointed CEO of SI Automotive, a technology corporation that developed an improvement in vehicle stability control. Carlson most recently was a senior advisor to the Global Automotive Division of Boston-Power, a leading lithiumion battery manufacturer. In 2003 she wrote the travel memoir Untangling My Chopsticks: A Culinary Sojourn in Kyoto, and she continues to blog about her adventures in Boston and around the world. In this issue: Riccardi writes about the opening of Newton's Sycamore restaurant in "So Many Dinners." What is your favorite current food trend? "I love all the rustic, earthy fare that's coming out of kitchens around town. I am a peasant at heart when it comes to food." What are you most looking forward to eating this spring? "I had a transcendent culinary experience with my wife at Stan Frankenthaler's Salamander restaurant in Cambridge back in the late 1990s."
