A perennial favorite of our stylish set, the luxury retailer Intermix recently expanded its posh Newbury Street space in an effort to offer a more extensive selection of top designers and emerging brands to Boston fashion lovers. Already popular for its seasonal assortment of ready-to-wear and accessories, including tailored Stella McCartney blazers, body-conscious Zac Posen dresses, and killer Jimmy Choo stilettos, Intermix is using the additional 1,500 square feet to introduce the in-demand labels Narciso Rodriguez and Barbara Bui to Boston this spring. As an added bonus, the multibrand retailer is celebrating 20 years in business with an anniversary capsule collection featuring 20 limited-edition pieces from 20 of fashion's top contemporary designers. Exclusive to Intermix boutiques, the chic lineup includes a three-quarter-sleeve mint green Missoni sundress, a crisp white blazer from Rag & Bone, a poppy Herve Leger cocktail dress, and a Proenza Schouler PS1 pouchette in a spirited fuchsia. 186 Newbury St., 617-2365172; intermixonline.com BC Sergio Rossi heels ($575). 88 RALPH LAUREN'S RELAXED, REFINED DESIGNS exemplify casual sophistication. Launched in 2011, the company's contemporary line Denim & Supply favors a similar aesthetic, but with a vintageinspired twist. Blue jeans feature distressed detailing; khakis come in utilitarian shades of olive, stone, and navy; and lithe maxi dresses are cast in floral, bohemian prints. The brand's Newbury Street space—its first Boston location—is outfitted with brick walls, metal-framed windows, and aluminum spotlights. For summer, Hawaiian-print shirts, sherbet-colored denim, and rugged cargos dominate the men's collection, while canvas military jackets, linen dresses, and fringe shawls are among the vibrant women's offerings. 342 Newbury St., 617-247-2801; ralphlauren.com SURF'S UP Pret-a-Surf makes waves at the Revere Hotel. Founded by style savants Jillian Demling and Karen Mulligan, the high-end sportswear label Pret-a-Surf offers beach-ready apparel with a preppy, East Coast bent. For their latest collection, the designers cast retro-cut bikinis, one-pieces, rash guards, boyfriend shorts, and cover-ups in classic ginghams, seersuckers, florals, and nautical stripes. Most exciting, in celebration of the reopening of the Revere Hotel's rooftop pool, Pret-a-Surf will outfit the entire pool staff in its spring offerings.
