Wynn Design composes new variations for its fi ve-star rooms in Macau. A Wynn Resorts redesign means far more than keeping ahead of hospitality trends. Steve Wynn's resorts in Las Vegas and Macau garnered 10 five-star awards—more than any other independent hotelier in the world—from the 2014 Forbes Travel Guide Star Rating list. Wynn Macau and Encore at Wynn Macau, the youngest siblings in the Wynn family, hold the distinct honor of being rated among Forbes Travel Guide's most elite group of resorts worldwide for five- star awards in its hotel, dining, and spa categories. When Wynn's constantly evolving design process turned toward the rooms and suites at Wynn Macau, Roger Thomas, executive vice president of design for Wynn Design and Development, set about creating a fresh new look for the Wynn Tower. "We decided to unveil a striking new look at the tower, offering guests a luxurious home away from home featuring bespoke touches for the rooms and suites to elevate our singular guest experience," says Thomas. Thomas would rely on new variations on wall coverings, carpets, chairs, and couches, as well as draperies and lamps to create a lighter, airier atmosphere for the rooms. "I wanted the rooms to be very uplifting," says Thomas. "I always design guest rooms I want to live in. Comfort and style are of equal concern."
