"The Nalu Body Ritual reflects a fusion of Big Island and temple-style Lomi Lomi massage, intertwined with a luxurious body exfoliation." —blake feeney oil scalp treatment." Think long, flowing move- ments in which the therapist presses his or her forearm along the length of your entire body and applies calming, gentle compressions. Massage combines with a full-body exfoliation using coconut oil and naturally occurring alpha hydroxy agents in a raw sugarcane scrub using Pure Fiji products, enhancing your skin's own natural rejuvenation process. Polynesian music and the heady scents of the tropics transport you straight from the Las Vegas Strip to a wave- lapped palapa on a faraway beach. Deeply moisturizing coconut is also used in The Spa at Wynn's Tropical Journey, which uses steamed coconut compresses to prepare skin for a mas- sage with coconut and ginger body oil. Frequent fliers and dry-skin sufferers alike may benefit from a season-specific treat- ment. Says Feeney, "Encore's 50-minute Body Restoration was designed to be the perfect rem- edy for dry skin." That service uses Tasha & Co.'s orange blossom conditioning cream scrub to pol- ish and smooth the body. "It deeply conditions and helps repair dry skin during a warm wrap, as rich emollients, antioxidants, and the antiaging benefits of honey and botanical citrus extracts are absorbed into the skin." To prepare skin for the ultimate in moisturiz- ing—and to banish the remnants of stale airline cabin air—exfoliate first, recommends Feeney. "Sloughing away dead skin cells is the first step to restoring and pampering dry skin; the clearer the skin, the deeper a moisturizer can penetrate." Dry-skin sufferers might consider moisturizing with restorative cream from Glo Therapeutics or the ultrarich moisturizer from Skin Authority, both products used at the spa. "Once you've got a fresh, smooth surface to work with," says Feeney, "soothe your winter- dry skin with an oil-rich moisturizer. Products that are naturally oil-based have more staying power and keep water from evaporating from your skin." Best of all, the results are evident both inside and out: "Keeping your skin moist will improve its overall appearance." Rising temperatures will soon usher in a new slew of beauty concerns. With a sizzling sum- mer on the horizon, take time today to prepare for the heat ahead. Polish and pamper by add- ing Encore's 30-minute Body Polish treatment to any massage to get skin glowing. Feeney explains, "An invigorating exfoliation using ground pomegranate and orange peel helps brighten and revitalize the skin. After the exfo- liation, a hydrating body butter, scented in our signature tobacco, sandalwood, and grapefruit combinations, is generously used to massage the body." n photography by barbara kraft (jacuzzi); russell macmasters (hallway) Arrive early to unwind in the whirlpool, sauna, or steam room before a treatment.
