The Dominican-themed fête was attended by notable supporters, members of the health care community, and Boston's biggest names in sports and entertainment. This first annual gala raised more than $100,000 to provide critical pediatric health care to children in New England and the Dominican Republic, in keeping with the mission of The David Ortiz Children's Fund and his partnerships with MassGeneral Hospital for Children and the World Pediatric Project. The event was attended by 600 people and raised more than $1 million to support its mission of pairing children who face chronic or lifethreatening medical conditions with teambased collegiate support networks.
