...WITHOUT WHOM THIS ISSUE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE HOLIDAY 2013 Katy B. Olson Katy B. Olson is a New York City–based writer whose work has appeared in Hamptons, New York, The Week, and The Daily Mail. In this issue, Olson talked with the founders of Fashion Project for Style of Generosity. How is Fashion Project changing the face of clothing donation? "High-quality clothes earn the same amount for charity as their poorly made counterparts when donated to traditional nonprofit thrift shops. Fashion Project is maximizing charitable contributions and looking good while doing it." What piece could you never give up? "My Champagne-pink Anna Sui silk dress." Scott Kearnan the food being foraged make you appreciate it more? "It's so amazing to see the lengths that these chefs go to create their dishes. There are many wonderful ways to connect with the food that you eat, but this has to be one of the most memorable." Jared Bowen Jared Bowen is an Emmy-winning reporter with WGBH-TV. He also covers the arts for Boston Public Radio, and this past February he debuted his own weekly series, Open Studio with Jared Bowen. In this issue, he interviewed Downton Abbey's Michelle Dockery for our cover story. What struck you most about Michelle Dockery? "She reminds me of Meryl Streep—exquisitely beautiful, exceptionally talented, and radiant with personal warmth." What makes Downton Abbey so irresistible? "It has a captivating cast, operatic stories, gorgeous setting, and a devastating grande dame." PHOTOGRAPHY BY MARK MAHANEY (SIMPSON) Joshua Simpson Freelance photographer Joshua Simpson was born in Boston, raised in northern California, and currently lives in Brooklyn.
