STYLE NICHE Man-about-town Jon Harris (CENTER) favors the trend of more serious suiting, which is finding expression in the redesigned Ferragamo store on North Michigan Avenue and the new Chicago outpost of Brioni. Suited Up Finish with Flair CHICAGO MEN GET CHIC NEW SUITING OPTIONS WITH THE ARRIVAL OF SEVERAL FAMED FASHION HOUSES. M ale shoppers these days are just as in tune with design and quality as their female counterparts, as shown by everyone from NBA players to pop stars to real estate moguls. True to form, the suit is becoming more of a staple in men's wardrobes, and now Chicago gentlemen have more options than ever. "A great suit feels like a suit of armor, giving a whole different level of swagger," says Jon Harris, chief communications officer for The Hillshire Brands. "It makes me feel like I'm ready to take on the world." Ready to take on the Windy City is Tom Ford, who has arrived in a sumptuous boutique in the former Esquire Theatre (66 E. Oak St., 312-605-5041; tomford.com). The new store offers a discreet environment in which to purchase the brand's coveted suits, cut more generously this season to reflect Tom Ford's working relationship with Daniel Craig as James Bond. Salvatore Ferragamo (645 N. Michigan Ave., 312-397-0464; ferragamo.com) adds a new second floor devoted to sleek menswear. Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti's latest collection boasts plenty of coats and "tank tread" rubber soles—perfect for autumn in Chicago. A new Brioni boutique (12 E. Walton St., 312-649-9100; brioni.com) offers smooth Italian suiting that would please everyone from Don Draper to Derrick Rose. And at the South Loop's Roosevelt Collection, Haberdash (150 W. Roosevelt Road, 312-6248551) opens a 4,000-squarefoot location on September 12. Unique features include a full-service barbershop, an apothecary selection, and the private label Haberdash Bespoke No. 607. MA TIFFANY & CO. Paloma's Zellige cuff links (price on request). 730 N. "Men don't dress up today because they have to, but because they want to," says Doug Moss, vice president and general manager of Saks Fifth Avenue Chicago. "They want to wear sartorial classics and create their own modern-day version of the look." Add the ideal finishing touch with one of these classic cuff link sets.
