FROM THE PUBLISHER With my husband, Dan Sadowsky, and Chelsea Brammer at the screening of Hearts and Crafts: The People That Make Hermes. As an Aspen Peak reader, when you're away from our little mountain town, even if a local, we know you wish to stay With star weathermen Ryan Boudreau (LEFT) and Cory Gates. connected. Every winter I field calls from friends and clients asking for a weather and ski report. Fortunately, this season I'll be armed with up-to- the-minute forecasts thanks to our new partnership with aspenweather.net. Our website (aspenpeak-magazine.com) will host a live, 24-hour weather feed, with daily forecasting from weather gurus Cory Gates and Ryan Boudreau. Their forecasts are amazingly spot-on, so there's no excuse to miss a powder day. ABOVE: At the Komen Ladies Luncheon, held at Dancing Bear, with Blanca O'Leary (LEFT) and Jill Kaufman. LEFT: Power brokers at Plato's restaurant with Tim Estin (LEFT), Gary Feldman (CENTER), and Scott Davidson. And on the subject of our expanded online presence, stay up to date on charity galas and full-moon ski adventures, from which I promise to tweet. Check out our daily Insight posts and Weekend Recommenders for the inside track on all things Aspen. Additionally, our Facebook page and website are constantly updated with exclusive coverage of town's numer- ous events; this season check out both for clues to our new Après PeakEasy, a series of monthly festive après-ski gatherings held in secret locales. When not talking skiing, our community spins tales of other winter pastimes: snowshoeing, skinning, cross-country skiing or, for a growing cadre of daredevils that includes my son, speed winging. With tiny para- chutes strapped to their backs and skis on their feet, they launch from Highlands Peak and touch down on the cross-country trail near the his- toric T-Lazy-7 Ranch. (Thank you Facebook at facebook.com/ aspenpeak.magazine. Follow me on Twitter at @aspenpeakmag and on to the Deane family, who owns the ranch and maintains the glorious road to the Maroon Bells in winter.) And, as always, our resort continues to evolve. We toast the incredible renovation of Aspen's grande dame, the Hotel Jerome. Don't miss Element 47, The Little Nell's new restaurant, while the anticipated debut of the Westin Snowmass Resort will complement the fabulous Viceroy Snowmass. We also extend a western welcome to Brunello Cucinelli and Blitz clothing. "I love snow, snow, and all the forms of radiant frost." —Percy Bysshe Shelley ALEXANDRA HALPERIN 34 ASPENPEAK-MAGAZINE.COM
