style file Bright colors abound in Versace's Spring show. turkish delight Sarar's quality craftsmanship finds a home at Venetian. Thread counters, get excited: Turkish clothier Sarar has found a new home at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino. With a wide array of Turkish-made suits, shirts, knits, and separates, all made from luxurious fabrics (think Thomas Mason cotton shirting and Loro Piana cashmeres), the 68-year-old atelier is sure to give its new Italian-powerhouse neighbors a run for their money. "Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world," says Tunch Hepguler, executive vice president of Sarar. "Our range from business casual to black tie perfectly fits the Las Vegas client, who mixes business with pleasure." N eon pink, lime green, and tangerine should not be considered solely women's territory this spring. Some of the most coveted and wearable pieces from the men's runways have featured small hints of color underneath classic and contemporary suiting. Always a sar- torial signature, Versace's neon shirts were tucked into classic gray, two-button suits, although it was far from alone in highlighting the trend. Paul Smith created a sunny color-blocked look in layered knits, with vibrant orange and navy blue, while Cole Haan crafted classic brown bucks accented with soles in brilliant shades of blue, green, yellow, and pink. The trend is international, with designers proposing a bright summer across many time zones, although the look is clearly better suited to certain social climates. "Las Vegas is a town where you want to stand out," says Vegas-based stylist Todd Hanshaw. "Color is a great way to define your style, and the best way to use it is in your accessories and shirts. The touch of color really imbues the wearer with both a cool factor and a sense of modernity." Versace. Miuccia Prada, no stranger to sending out whimsical designs and accessories in her men's runway shows, chose for her Spring 2012 show to immerse the audience in all things golf. From the Astroturf runway to the pastel cleat- like oxfords and caricature-printed cotton field jackets, the collection seemed to be simultane- ously winking at and updating the classic golfer's uniform. The knockout pieces, how- ever, were not necessarily the ultra-thin wool golf trousers (although they undoubtedly are must-haves for an 18-hole day at Shadow Creek), but the jewel-encrusted golf bags. In shades of blue and red, as well as an illustrated surfer print, these dazzling accoutrements are sure to cause a stir on any Vegas course—and perhaps, as an added bonus, distract your oppo- nents.
