WITH A MOTIF SPUN FROM the yacht-racing culture of the mid-'70s and the return of the America's Cup to US waters, Drift eyewear launches a collection inspired by the 150-year-old race. The 12Meter collection is handcrafted with teak temples salvaged from vintage boat decking and framed in eco-friendly natural acetate built for both sun and sport. "The water has always been an influence on the brand," explains Drift co-owner and designer Chris Mantz, "always moving into new directions, but guided by the past." The America's Cup, which will take place in San Francisco July 4 to September 21, will also be the official launch site for the new line. I.D. Chicago, 3337 N. Born of Milwaukee design duo Joe Locher and James Lohmiller's frustration at traditional, flip-closure cuff links, HollenWolff's snaptogether versions are a gentleman's dream. Debuting in Chicago this summer, the effortless, industrial-looking links come in a multitude of styles. "Chicago is filled with men who have a fierce sense of individuality," says Locher, the label's marketing director.
