BELOW: He will lead the W3 Weekend this summer, which offers four days of hands-on experiences for children. a world of good D wyane Wade may be renowned for being a multiple-NBA-championship-winning guard for the Miami Heat, but as a boy growing up on the South Side of Chicago, he had a different vision. "Wade's World Foundation was a dream that I had ever since I was a young boy," says the 31-year-old. "I always wanted to make a difference in my community." After being selected by the Heat as the fifth overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, Wade launched Wade's World Foundation (WWF) to make that 62 childhood ambition a reality. Now the nonprofit organization is celebrating its 10th year of providing educational, health, and wellness programs to youth in underserved communities in Chicago, South Florida, and Milwaukee.
