OUTSIDE THE (RED) BOX summer loves IKRAM AND JOSH GOLDMAN DIVULGE THEIR LATEST LOCAL OBSESSIONS. BAG MAN Jack Cave—who happens to be artist Nick Cave's brother—is designing extraordinary, one-of-a-kind vintage bags made of recycled leather goods for men. I fell in love with them when I saw them on a couple of Jack's friends at the School of the Art Institute gala. Men usually carry a big luggage-type bag, but this is a body-wrap "murse" that sits right under the armpit with a crossover leather elastic strap. They come in all colors— brown, black, a men's suiting gray pinstripe—and they're divine. For a man who loves a little touch of fashion, this is the perfect accessory to add to an otherwise simple suit or outfit. This is Jack's first collection, and I was the first person to see it. The bags will be available locally this summer, and he has all the information on Facebook at Jack Cave Design. CREATIVE OUTLET I just took my entire staff to Bottle & Bottega, where you bring your own food and booze and they provide you with canvas, paint, brushes, the space, and an instructor to help you do a painting of some sort. The age range in our group was from 18 to almost 80, and every single person had a blast. They were able to release whatever was on their minds and focus on this incredible thing they were doing, which was to copy an image—they have spectacular flower images, sunset scenes, and things that are more nature-driven. We had a potluck with food from every culture and all kinds of different wines and beers. I took a picture of all the staff gathered together with everybody holding their paintings up, and you could see the different images that were painted. It is fabulous; I've already sent an e-mail to every one of my clients to say they should do it. PRIMO POLISH Another thing I am absolutely obsessed with is a new nail polish called Kure Bazaar, which I discovered in Paris at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche. You walk in, and there's a table and a manicurist; you pick out your color, and it dries in less than 15 minutes. It's from almost all natural origin, and it comes in all these extraordinary colors. I bought every color known to man: the base colors—which are the white and cream colors—and all the gold colors, plus blues, reds, orange, and pinks. Basically, it's the best product out there. Anthropologie carries it, and soon I hope to carry it at Ikram. MA TOP: Jack Cave enters the fashion fray with a line of men's handbags.
