We were hardly out of our summer m ind-set when the fall social schedule picked up in Boston. We bid adieu to a sun-soaked season with our annual Glambake at Longwood Lifestyle & Events' beautiful Newport property, Belle Mer. Thank you to Mohegan Sun, Double Cross vodka, Stella Artois, Château d'Esclans, and Mercedes-Benz for such a great evening on the venue's expansive lawn. In addition to the beautiful cars on view, we all enjoyed delicious food and drinks, and rounds of bocce late into the evening. With Peter and Liz Georgantas at the demolition party for the launch of the Art Deco residential development Chevron on Tremont. Boston Common helped welcome the new Marimekko store to Newbury Street at its opening party with Solerno liquor and Reyka vodka. Then we jumped headfirst into September with an intimate presentation of Daniela Corte's stunning Fall 2012 clothing line. The next night we cohosted Fashion's Night Out events at Copley Place with Double Cross vodka and at National Jean Company's Newbury Street store with Privateer rum. Both events drew crowds excited about fall fashion, and even the men were looking especially put together. The menswear scene in Boston got even stronger this season with the recent openings of Gant and Alton Lane. ABOVE: Chris Karlson, George Albrecht, and me at our annual summer lawn party. BELOW: With Jim Buckley and Richard P. Lawless at The Ally Foundation's Second Annual Ally Open golf tourna ment on Cape Cod. David Yurman held an event at its newly renovated Copley Place store in honor of the boutique's fifth anniversary, and we were on hand to help celebrate. We also held our biggest fashion event yet this fall, with Saks Fifth Avenue and Audi, complete with a runway show at the Revere Hotel. Finally, we partnered with Cointreau for a bartenders mix-off at the InterContinental in facebook.com/boston-common and on Follow me on Facebook at bostoncommon-magazine.com. September. WAAF radio host Greg Hill emceed the evening, and eight Boston bartenders competed to make the most delicious Cointreau cocktails. The winner was awarded a trip to the finals in New York City in hopes of winning a seat at the Cannes Film Festival in May. We are happy to have Celtics star Rajon Rondo on this issue's cover, and we look forward to celebrating his style and talent at an upcoming party in his honor at Nix's Mate. Best of luck to the point guard and his teammates in the upcoming season. GLEN KELLEY 24 BOSTONCOMMON-MAGAZINE.COM
