T he Guide bubbling over AND A SPARKLING NEW CHAMPAGNE LOUNGE. BY JESSICA LANIEWSKI THE LANGHAM UNVEILS A $6 MILLION RENOVATION B ostonians now have a plush new place to sip bubbly, thanks to the unveiling of The Reserve at The Langham hotel, a European- style Champagne lounge whose name references the building's original use as the Federal Reserve Bank. Boston's CBT Architects headed up the $6 million renovation, raising ceilings and bringing more natural light into the historic building. The Reserve, on the hotel's first was part of the redesign that included the lobby and reception area. Gaylord Lamy, director of food and beverage at The Langham, created a wine list that encompasses varieties from France, New Zealand, and Chile, and seven types of floor, fine sparkling wine and Champagne, including Veuve Clicquot and Dom PĂ©rignon. Guests can enjoy their bubbly alone or with light bites such as croque monsieur, gazpacho Andaluz, and mozzarella pearls with organic tomatoes from Executive Chef Mark Sapienza. The Reserve seats 60 and serves a formal Tiffin Tea, complete with exotic blends and house-made scones and pastries. We predict your tea leaves will prophesize something bubblier in your evening.
