Refreshingly original and aptly timed with the approach of the London Olympic Games this summer, designers appropriated harness detail- ing, technical mesh fabrications, and good old-fashioned gym togs to create uniquely spir- ited ensembles. "I've seen athletic inspiration throughout many of the women's collections for Spring/Summer 2012," notes Brittney Rothweiler, buyer for The Tannery. "What's best about this season's translation of the trend is that it's not only athletic but sexy at the same time, in a way that's complimentary to most body types."
