FROM THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF My new pal, emerging designer Marie Whitney, at our photo shoot (see "Style Setter"), with each of us modeling one of her blazers I wouldn't have been a success here without Dan Uslan by my side... and I sure will miss his mug. I'll never forget the first time I met Dan Uslan: It was January 2008, and I had just signed on to serve as editor of this magazine, while Dan was in the final stages of negotiating his role as publisher. We met privately at Iguana Cafe to see if we would gel as a team, and two hours later we agreed with a handshake to launch the magazine together—although neither of us knew what that would entail. Now, four and a half years later, after enduring insane work schedules and spending days, nights, weekends—even workouts—in each others' company, there's one thing I know for sure: We have chemistry. The kind that allows two strangers to create and sustain a successful magazine in a city crowded with glossy publications. And that's why I also know that—even though this is my last issue as editor—this magazine will live on in Dan's capable hands. I want to thank the cast of thousands who have helped me succeed in this role, especially my "inner circle" (you know who you are). I hope that those of you who read and support this magazine will embrace the new editor just as you've embraced me, and that you'll also follow me as I take my career in a new direction.
