PHOTOGRAPHY COURTESY OF BE STYLED BY JESSICA LANIEWSKI B low-dry-only salons have been taking the stress out of tress care in Boston recently, but Be Styled blow-dry lounge makes the experience even more fabulous. The eight-station salon relaxes clients with its calming palette of silver, periwinkle blue, and white. The guest experience is streamlined with a pre-appointment lounge, a counter with an assortment of white candy, and flat-screen televisions that stream movies. Clients can browse hairstyle options, from straight and sexy to beachy waves, from an iPad menu at each station that also shows the styles on women with different hair lengths and colors. Blowout addicts can opt for packs of three, six, or 12 appointments. Nicholas Penna Jr., owner and creative director at Salon Capri, wanted to cater to the modern woman on the go when he opened Be Styled with business partners Corey Bialow and Trippe Lonian. "We felt there was a need in the market for affordable, luxury services that women could incorporate into their busy schedules on the fly," says Penna. "More specifically, a way for a woman to feel pretty every day, not just after quarterly salon visits, and without the hassle of having to schedule appointments weeks in advance." Penna and his partners have opened locations in Wellesley, Lynnfield, and at The Street in Chestnut Hill, and they plan to take their upscale concept national. Women across the country might soon be enjoying this brainchild of one of Boston's premier hair stylists.
