Mayor Thomas Menino and his wife, Angela, were recognized with the Liff Spirit Award for their long-standing commitment to Boston's parks and green spaces. More than 800 attendees, including Corinne Grousbeck and Andy Ross, raised $1.2 million to launch the Olmsted Tree Society, an initiative to inventory and manage the care for historic and new trees in the Emerald Necklace parks. PHOTOGRAPHY BY MICHAEL BLANCHARD Rob and Christine Small Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston's annual House Party was held at the home of Stephanie and John Connaughton on May 17 and highlighted the organization's music programming and partnership with Berklee College of Music. Nearly 600 guests enjoyed performances by three Berklee ensembles during cocktails and two memorable spotlight performances by Boys & Girls Club members before dinner. After dining, guests danced the night away. The event raised $2.5 million for Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston. Guests included Robert and Jonathan Kraft, Steve Pagliuca, and Cyndy and John Fish.
