PHOTOGRAPHY BY CHRISTIAN OTH (ZIPKIN BROTHERS); SEAN PAVONE (SKYLINE) TRADEWIND AVIATION IS CONFLATING THE IMAGES OF COMMUTING EXECUTIVE AND EXECUTIVE COMMUTER. SKY SOLO PRIVATE BOSTON JET- SETTING HAS NEVER BEEN EASIER. BY MIA ZARRELLA On really busy weeks, it's tough to differentiate between a commuting executive and an executive commuter. Brothers David and Eric Zipkin, of Tradewind Aviation, a private jet company operating in the Northeast and the Caribbean, want to conflate those images. Here, David Zipkin speaks to Swiss planes, expanding routes (including a new shuttle service from Logan to greater New York City), and private flying as convenience. What's flying to New York? A Pilatus PC-12, a Swiss-built, turbine-powered, pressurized aircraft with comfortable seating for eight passengers. We operate 16 of these aircraft. What other routes are on the horizon? Boston to Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and Stowe, as well as private charters and the continuation of business shuttles. Where are Bostonians flying moreā€”the Northeast or the Caribbean? It's about 50/50. The Northeast can be much busier on peak days in the summer, but the Caribbean has a longer high season. What's next for Tradewind? Continued expansion in the Northeast and Caribbean. We're also looking at other regions, like ski resorts out west, where the convenience of our shuttle concept would work well. flytradewind.com . Up, up, and away! With Tradewind Aviation's Northeast and Caribbean shuttles, brothers (FROM LEFT) Eric and David Zipkin are offering the private charter experience for the cost of a single commercial first class seat.
