The comedic drama Other People, written and directed by Chris Kelly and starring Molly Shannon, won best narrative feature while Life, Animated, directed by Roger Ross Williams, won best documentary feature. Tel Aviv on Fire, written by Sameh Zoabi and Dan Kleinman, took top prize as winner of the feature screenplay competition. Notable guests included Oliver Stone, Bennett Miller, Seth Meyers, and more. Canadian conductor Jacques Lacombe opened the program with Ravel's colorful "Alborada del gracioso" and closed with Prokofiev's "Symphony No. 5." A preceding gala fundraiser raised $475,000 for the music venue. The more than 400 guests included event co-chairs Gregory Bulger, Richard Dix, and Lina and Eduardo Plantilla, along with BSO board chairs Bill Achtmeyer with wife Alli, board president Paul Buttenwieser with wife Katie, managing director Mark Volpe, overseer Jill Horner with husband and star cellist Yo-Yo Ma, and trustee Joyce Linde.
