FROM THE PUBLISHER I enjoyed our poolside Vegas Sparkles event at Vdara with the hotel's general manager, Mary Giuliano. I donned white for Vegas's Summer issue party, outside at Azure Luxury Pool, and joined two ladies in black: stunning cover model Chrissy Teigen and Editor-in-Chief Abby Tegnelia, at her last party. In the luxury advertising space, high-end multinational brands—the likes of Valentino, Cavalli, Versace, DVF, Fendi, Armani, Bally, and Prada, to name a few—roll out their highly anticipated and freshly photographed fall campaigns, many of which can be seen in the following pages. They are designed to envelop, captivate, and inspire the readers of our luxury lifestyle magazine, and I believe they do. There's also an invigorated newness in the Las Vegas air. Hotels are at capacity, commanding juicy rates; shows on the Strip are sold out; restaurants, bars, and nightclubs are replete with revelers; and, lo and behold, the local real estate market is on the upswing! Just drive down any one of Downtown's gentrified streets, or take a Sunday drive around Summerlin or Henderson. New home construction is once again abounding. This new surge is palpable, and quite frankly downright exciting. Count on Vegas to keep you connected, captivated, and celebrated for everything luxury. For us at Vegas, this fall also marks a new beginning. Abby Tegnelia, my venerable partner in crime, our esteemed editor-in-chief, has sought a new career path for herself, and this very issue is her last. When Abby jumped aboard three years ago, economic times in Las Vegas were different, as was the general sentiment Follow me on Twitter at about luxury anything. Vegas magazine, @josefvann and on too, was a different book. We have vegasmagazine.com. changed our typography, look, and feel, and even our focus. We have always celebrated luxury, but as all brands do from time to time, we needed growth and maturity. Abby raised the bar for us in ways that are immeasurable. She elevated the dialogue, photographic strategy, and sophistication, the focus and the energy, and used her intellect, her Ivy League journalism degree, and her incredible experience to make Vegas a refined, intelligent read. Abby, I thank you for being my partner, for making Vegas a better magazine, but mostly I thank you, Abby, for being so Abby!
