FROM THE PUBLISHER With Tim Kerwin, Brother Cleve, and Kyle Ford at the InterContinental judging the regional finals for Cointreau's search for an Ambassador of Libations. The whirlwind pace of the holiday season is upon us, but Boston Common has already been busy celebrating this fall. At the end of September we hosted a 62-look fashion show with Saks Fifth Avenue at the Revere Hotel. We are thankful that Mionetto prosecco, Bauer Wine & Spirits, Audi, Svedka, Peroni, and Pose Photo Booth were able to join us in celebrating. It was great to see New England Patriots Dane Fletcher and Brandon Lloyd in the front row. We held our men's event with our cover star, Celtic Rajon Rondo, at The Liberty hotel. Three BMWs greeted guests at the hotel entrance, and signature cocktails by Svedka and Black Velvet Canadian whiskey were served on all three floors of the catwalk. Sara Underwood and her mom, Micki Schneider, with me at our cover party with Rajon Rondo at The Liberty hotel. Michael De Paulo and Linda Pizzuti Henry continued the fashionable streak with a show of the designer's Spring 2013 collection, also at The Liberty. Mark Miller continued to push the limits of luxury outerwear with the debut of his 2012/2013 winter line at a private reception at his recently renovated atelier. The charitable Tiffany Ortiz partnered with Ippolita jewelry and Lux, Bond & Green to host an event benefiting Unicef. I was happy to be a judge when Cointreau held the regional finals in search of the brand's Ambassador of Libations at the InterContinental. Eight bartenders competed for a chance to head to New York for the finals and the prize of creating cocktails at the Cannes Film Festival. Congratulations to the winner, Leah Famularo of Burton's Grill in Hingham. We then toasted the men in our October issue's article "The New Guard" at Gem Restaurant & Lounge with Russian Standard Vodka. We were also excited to be on hand when Sheree Allen and Kaplan Auto Group hosted a Facebook.com/boston-common and on Follow me on Facebook at bostoncommon-magazine.com. LEFT: With Brandon Lloyd, Dane Fletcher, and Beth Dickerson at our fall fashion show. private cocktail reception at the Mandarin Oriental with the brand's cofounder, Henrik Fisker, and chief commercial officer, Richard Beattie. In October we joined Smith & Wollensky to celebrate The Mission Continues, a very worthy organization that encourages veteran volun- teerism. I was especially touched by US Marine Corps veteran Natasha Young, who spoke at the event and detailed her own difficult time after her service to our country had ended. Young said, "You have to have rain to have rainbows," and that hopeful phrase has stuck with me. Hope your season is as cheery as Young's outlook.
