It turns out they did—together. e famous friends recorded hundreds of hours of conversations in the late 1970s in the hopes of creating a Broadway play that never happened. But Warhol Capote, premiering at the American Repertory eater Sept. 9, mines those conversations for a new work offering up the pair's intimate musings on celebrities, Studio 54 scandals and more. e never-before-heard meetings yield "riveting conversation," says Diane Paulus, the A.R.T.'s Artistic Director.
