In its eighth installment, Boston Calling Music Festival is moving from its three-year home at City Hall Plaza to the Harvard Athletic Complex, where performances, visual art, and food stands will sprawl across 16 acres like it's 1969. New this year is a three-day "Comedy Experience" with host Hannibal Buress and a festival design by Russ Bennett, known for creating the layouts of Bonnaroo and Outside Lands. The National's Aaron Dessner-assembled lineup features Tool, Mumford & Sons, Chance the Rapper, Bon Iver, The xx, and Weezer, and local acts Cousin Stizz, Worcester's The Hotelier, and Allston-based Vundabar.
