Musical performances of works by Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and other more unusual pieces of Russian folk music and choral works were soaked in by the crowds at the Fairmont Copley Plaza. Janet Wu served as the emcee for the evening, and guests included Russian artist Misha Lenn and Jamie Tisch. Deborah Elfers, Hope Baker, Sibila Gloggler Korb, and Margarita Rudyak served as the event chairs for a gala that raised more than $816,000. Bryan Rafanelli and Marie Wu Kelly McDermott and Mariann Youniss Kyle Beaudouin Wendy Thurmond, Lauren Cronin, Sue Connors, Nanci Cicchetti, Jane Deery, Susan Kingsley, Stephanie Coughlan, and Amanda Pezzuto Jody Adams and James Rooney PROJECT ROLE MODEL FASHION SHOW Our local movers and shakers strutted down the runway at the Project Role Model Fashion Show for the Big Sister Association of Greater Boston. The stylish presentation at the Fairmont Copley Plaza included Chef Jody Adams, retired New England Patriots player Jerod Mayo, Boston Police Commissioner William Evans, Bryan Rafanelli of Rafanelli Events, WBZ-TV's Eric Fisher and Dr. Mallika Marshall, and State Senator Linda Dorcena Forry. Participating designers and boutiques included Michael DePaulo, Alice walk, Sara Campbell, Eileen Fisher, Gumuchian jewelers, and The Street at Chestnut Hill. WBZ-TV's Lisa Hughes emceed, while first lady of Massachusetts, Lauren Baker, delivered featured remarks. The event, attended by about 350 guests, raised nearly $200,000 in support of Big Sister Boston's mentoring and enrichment programs for girls.
