Styling celebrities is every beauty guru's dream, but it's old hat for Chicago hair pro Marianne Strokirk, whose clients range from top models to celebrities like Hillary Clinton and Maria Shriver. Having built up a powerhouse portfolio after nearly 30 years, the Stockholm native yearned for "something new and fabulous." Fast-forward to the recent unveiling of her relocated and expanded Marianne Strokirk Salon, which boasts 20-foot ceilings and a whopping 5,000 square feet of space but still seems intimate and soothes with a sea-blue floor that makes you feel like "you're walking on water." As we swing into spring, this hair stylist extraordinaire shares her tips on navigating the transition in style. Ease into the season. Say sayonara to winter hat hair and frizz with products like Kérastase Elixir Ultime and Pravana Nevo Intense Therapy, both go-tos for Strokirk. "Your hair is left hydrated and moisturized after the cold winter season." Make the cut. For Strokirk, 2017 is all about "growing up." That means forgoing long locks in favor of crisp collarbone cuts, showcasing a style that is "fresh, new, and modern." Be true to you. "It's all about the individual," says the Lincoln Park resident, whose personal look reflects her untamed nature. "I'm a free spirit," says the veteran salon owner. "What- ever my hair is going to do, I do." 1325 N. State St., 312-944- 4428; mariannestrokirk.com . HAIR GURU MARIANNE STRO IR DELIVERS THE SCOOP ON MAKING AN EFFORTLESS TRANSITION TO SPRING.
