Harvard University is planning to construct 1 million square feet of new property, most of it for academic and institutional use, on its real estate in Allston over the next 10 years. Harvard Business School will replace Kresge and Burden Halls with faculty and administrative offices, and graduate student housing near Soldiers Field Road will be renovated. Harvard Stadium, a National Historic Landmark built in 1903, will undergo a renovation that will include club seating for 350 spectators. The university and Samuels & Associates, its real estate partner, will also develop a residential and retail commons in the old Barry's Corner neighborhood. The school's basketball arena, Lavietes Pavilion, the second-smallest in the Ivy League, will be replaced by a new 60,000-square-foot, 3,000-seat venue. Harvard has also proposed a mixed-use development that may accommodate retail or housing. A hotel and conference center is proposed for the south side of Western Avenue. Alan Dershowitz's Dershowitz's Digs Hit the Market home has an indoor lap pool. Famed lawyer Alan M. Dershowitz's client list is a veritable who's who; it includes Mike Tyson, O.J. Simpson, the late Leona Helmsley, and Patty Hearst. The respected Harvard Law School professor is retiring and moving back to his native New York, and he has put his contemporary-style home on the market for $3,950,000. Robertson Jr., owner of Origen Property Management in Boston—have purchased the recently shuttered Locke-Ober restaurant and plan to bring luxury condominiums to the famed space. Six boutique condos will be added to the second, third, and fourth floors of the 137-year-old building, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and where the country's leading politicians, including former President John F. Kennedy, often dined. The condos, which are expected to be completed and on the market in fall 2013, will range from 2,400 to 3,200 square feet and stay true to LockeOber's old-world, luxurious feel by retaining much of the original mahogany woodwork. Residents won't have to stray far from home for a good meal: The partners plan to open a street-level restaurant with private rooms downstairs. 3 Winter Place. Ray Allen's Retreat for Sale The storied Locke-Ober property. After signing with the Miami Heat, former Boston Celtics star Ray Allen has put his Wellesley home up for sale. The 1.44-acre property is listed by agent Melissa Dailey of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage for $5.2 million. The 11,093-square-foot house was built in 2007 and is located in the exclusive Wellesley Farms neighborhood. The gated property has a long, secluded driveway and an extensive security system for privacy. A stunning foyer, with marble floors and a sweeping main staircase, greets guests.
