"We curate our trips based on fi ne culture. For example, anyone can make crap coffee," he says while sipping a macchiato, "but it takes time and money to fi nd that good espres- so. That's how I run my business, and my life." Levine is the founder and president of DuVine Cycling + Adventure Co., a Sommerville travel company that creates top- tier bike tours around the world. "After college, I was cycling through vineyards in France. I could smell the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay," he says. "You can't experience that through the windshield of a bus. Biking engages all your senses." Twenty years later, Levine's company offers trips to 21 countries—with 50 different itineraries. In 2017, Duvine is expanding to Greece, Peru, and Corsica. As for the threats of terrorism, Zika, and other travel hindrances, Levine has an opinion: "Are you going to bury your head in the sand and be afraid, or are you going to live your life? My uncle always said, 'Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think.'" He fi nished his macchiato with a slurp.
