LOVERS OF CLASSICAL music were in heaven when Boston Symphony Orchestra music director Andris Nelsons conducted a performance of Mahler's Symphony No. 8 (Symphony of a Thousand ) in honor of Tanglewood Music Center's 75th anniversary. Nearly 400 musi- cians participated in the celebratory show (which was simulcast on a large screen in Copley Square), including the Tanglewood Festival Chorus and the American Boychoir. Guests at the live concert enjoyed a tented gala dinner before the performance. A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC Diane and Deval Patrick Alli Achtmeyer and Andris Nelsons Rachel Kafka and Nate Hennagin Albert and Jacqueline Togut Ed and Lina Plantilla Nearly 400 musicians came together for the performance.
