FASHION NEWS Glamour meets wearability in Tome's Spring 2013 collection. all that jazz TIFFANY & CO.'S GATSBY-INSPIRED COLLECTION ARRIVES IN CHICAGO. FROM LOUIS ARMSTRONG TO JOE "KING" Oliver, Chicago has always had a connection to the stylings of the Jazz Age. This spring, that bond is deepened with the launch of Tiffany & Co.'s Ziegfeld Collection. Based on archival designs by Louis Comfort Tiffany, the Great Gatsby – inspired series captures the elegance of the era with tassel necklaces of freshwater cultured pearls, cuff links embellished with dark accents of black onyx, and delicate pendants with daisy motifs in sterling silver. Available at all four of the brand's Chicago-area boutiques, the collection offers the men and women of the Windy City the chance to outfit their favorite "glad rags" with vintage flair. Says Liza Zito, Tiffany & Co.'s group director, "When you look at the Chicago skyline, the influence of Art Deco design is part of our city—so our customers will be drawn to that glamour of the 1920s." 730 N. F ashion aficionados Ramon Martin and Ryan Lobo spent years working in the industry—most recently as design director of Derek Lam and an independent stylist, respectively—before launching their own label. Now in its fourth season, Tome embodies an effortless style with utilitarian garments as pragmatic as they are unique. "We've always had a clear idea of what we wanted to do," explains Martin. "We wanted to make unfettered, straightforward clothing that has a sense of humility to it." Initially an NYC exclusive, the designers' tailored separates and updated basics arrive in the Windy City with select pieces from the new Spring collection available exclusively at Space519. Inspired by the works of female artists Pina Bausch, Louise Bourgeois, and Vanessa Beecroft, the lineup includes languid silk sheath dresses, sculptural twill tops, and relaxed, pleated trousers. A kimono-style vest cast in gold metallic adds unexpected intrigue to this season's popular black and white ensembles, while a pale nude, V-neck maxi dress exudes a discreetly seductive sophistication. The collection's delicate, embroidered boat-neck top proves the ultimate expression of femininity, with its Design duo Ramon shimmering surface casting a natural glow on its wearer.
