FROM THE PRESIDENT & PUBLISHER Celebrating the Common Ground Foundation Gala at the Ritz-Carlton with Andy Li, Magic Johnson, and Common. We both hate snakes! With Harrison Ford, aka Indiana Jones himself, at our Chicago Cut Steakhouse reception. ABOVE: With craftsmen extraordinaires Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams, helping to launch the latest collection at their namesake store in Lincoln Park. LEFT: I married way up! With my wife, Sharon, supporting Conservation International at our spring cover party. I'm a Chicago transplant, born and raised on the East Coast, but nowhere do I feel more at home than at Wrigley Field. Cheering on the Cubs has the ease and familiarity of swapping memories with my childhood friends. Whether in the bleachers or in a suite behind home plate, I love catching a good game. The beauty of that lush, green field and brilliant Chicago summer sky can't be beat. We'll be celebrating another type of beauty in May at the Hotel Palomar, when we'll raise a glass to "Real Chicago Beauties," a group of eight outstanding women. Toasting talented individuals like Justine Fedak, senior vice president of BMO Financial Group, and Top Chef contestant Beverly Kim will be nothing short of inspiring. These eight leading ladies are our celebrities, and their contributions have cemented their status as stars. We look forward to giving back to the city that gives so much on Saturday, May 18, when Michigan Avenue serves as media partner for Make-A-Wish Illinois's 26th annual Wish Ball. With silent auctions and a performance by comedian Martin Short, it's an occasion not to be missed. For tickets, visit Follow me on Twitter We're also @danuslan and on Facebook at honored to support the Friends of Prentice Gala on June 1 at Navy Pier, which benefits Northwestern Memorial Hospital's Prentice Women's Hospital. For more information, visit I've also got my calendar marked for the Lookingglass Theatre Company's 12th Annual Madhatter's Ball on June 1, featuring a silent auction and raffle to benefit the groundbreaking ensemble's education and community programs. At 25 years old, the Lookingglass (cofounded by our cover star David Schwimmer) remains a vital contributor to a community that is, on all levels, a real beauty.
