She interviewed Golden Rainbow's Lea Carrasco-Zanini (page 72). What were your impressions of Golden Rainbow and Lea? Not that long ago, HIV/ AIDS was a hot topic, and people were quick to support those who were affected by it. Organizations such as Golden Rainbow are still needed, and it was a pleasure to chat with Lea, who is so passionate. Are you involved in charity work yourself? What are your holiday plans? I always visit my family in Connecticut. What impressed you most? Apart from the enjoyable 2008 Clos Pissarra El Mont from Priorat and the truly remarkable 2008 Emmerich Knoll Grüner Veltliner? The emphasis these men place on teaching and nurturing the next generation of wine fans, aficionados, and aspiring sommeliers. Equally impressive is how on top of and ahead of the curve Vegas is as a food and wine destination. Did talking to Mike Waters inspire your own personal fitness? After listening to what he does day in and day out, I felt like I immediately needed a run on the treadmill. What did you gain from doing this story? I realized that being busy isn't a good excuse to miss out on the many opportunities out there to help others. doing a million things at once, so I didn't expect to have his full attention during the shoot.
