Charlie Ressler and I dressed retro-style for the opening of The Act nightclub on Halloween weekend. Loyal Vegas magazine readers know that country music has taken the Strip stage by storm. And no one has welcomed that more enthusiastically than the magazine's staff and me! This month it reaches an absolute frenzy: On December 1 our cover star, Shania Twain, opens at the Colosseum as the first country headliner there ever. Interviewing her was a "dream come true" for Vegas assistant editor Emma Trotter. Not only are she and I huge fans of Twain's music, but her story of triumph after despair was enormously compelling, a true inspiration to anyone who has gone through tough times. Hitting the stage for her first live performance in years, Still the One is going to transform country music's presence on the Strip. I can't wait for opening night. Not to be outdone, Venetian is offering double the fun with country's power couple, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, who also spoke to us about bringing their music to the Vegas stage.
