PHOTOGRAPHY BY AL POWERS (DION); CHRISTOPHER DEVARGAS (HEADLINERS); JOHN BODNAR (HICKS) FROM THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF At Bally's with headliner Taylor Hicks, who presented 10,000 euros to the Wounded Warrior Project via BiLLe's Celeb Charity Challenge. His fantastic show was renewed for a year, starting October 17. Backstage at the Colosseum with Publisher Joe Vann and Celine Dion, in celebration of the icon's September Vegas magazine cover. Shooting portraits of nine men and four women for this month's issue of Vegas magazine turned out to be quite an eye-opening undertaking for assistant editor Emma Trotter and me. ABOVE: I toasted the premiere of Top Chef Masters season four at The Cosmopolitan, which hosted the season, with Kidville "mayor" Melissa Weiner and Fox5's Rachel Smith. LEFT: Shooting our men's issue portraits with local headliners Michael Grimm, Frankie Moreno, and Jeff Timmons. Wild West in the shadow of the sheriff, real-life Vegas hero Ralph Lamb, played by Dennis Quaid. If you haven't already, set your DVR for Vegas—and then prepare for a busy month. As it starts to get chilly, tuck into the Smith Center for a night at the theater. (I wouldn't miss Nevada Ballet Theatre's groundbreaking Jewels for the world.) Or grab tickets to that one local headliner you've been dying to see. My favorites are pictured on this page. A men's issue covering everything from whiskey and watches to our town's top newsmakers and a Vegas history lesson that traces back to a cowboy sheriff from the 1960s? I could get used to this.
