ANDERSON SUMMER LOVE When it comes to staying fashionable this summer, boutique owner Ikram Goldman is all in for New York-based Ampersand Heart (@ampersandheart), whose folk-inspired ready-to-wear denim (including multiple pieces with striking basketweave accents) is perfectly au courant. "There's a denim moment happening right now," says Goldman, "and their cuts are totally in line with what I love about fashion. It's really just knock-around [wear]—the kind of thing you want to see yourself running around in—but in a chic way." Goldman is also impressed by the line's playful striped tops ("It's a lot of fashion for something really casual, with a great sleeve and shoulder shape"), and envisions stylish Chicagoans wearing combinations of the two. "I love the idea of wearing the cage-like sleeve in the denim with the stripe under it poking out—that's adorable. And I love the stripe with a skinny little pant." Ultimately, for Goldman it's all about avoiding the summer fashion default of T-shirts and shorts. "I'm not [typically] a denim fan, and I don't love casual wear, but this is a light- weight, fun, fashionable collection that girls should pick up because they will love it.
